About Annie O'Brian - sand sculptor

Welcome to the world of sand sculpting. I'm Annie, a slightly obsessed sand sculptor based in Leicestershire, England. Yes, that IS about as far as you can get inland from the sea. But that also means there is coast in every direction.

This all began when I needed to keep warm on a British beach one summer. I had been brought up on African, South American and Middle Eastern coasts.  It turned into a love for creating in and wtih nature and the great outdoors. And for staying warm.   

Sand sculpting is relaxing to watch. Occasionally it can be nail-biting- there is always a tension between gravity and the power of the sand and water to stick together. 

 A workshop or team-building session will give you skills you can take away and use for the rest of your life. A demonstration can really draw a crowd at an event or conference.

Afterwards, it's part of the natural cycle to watch the wind and the waves turn everything back to an empty beach again, or to see the joy of those who just want to jump on their sculptures and castles - after they have taken all the photos, of course.

I offer a range of sand sculpting services, including bespoke commissions, workshops for everyone, and team building activities.  I work from a lovely  5m x 3m sandpit in Loughborough, or can work in a sandpit or on a beach near you. My aim is to bring creativity, artistry, and outdoor fun to all, from families to groups of friends and colleagues.  Join me and create unforgettable memories in the sand.
